More than 5,505 Ether of the Ronin Bridge exploitation appears to be moved through Tornado Cash, a special personal privacy crypto exchange.

Blockchain information revealed that the address connected with the $625 million Ronin Bridge Attack had started moving ether tokens valued at over $10 million. This took place throughout the Asian early morning hours.

The information revealed that the Ronin hacker had moved over 5,505 ether to one unidentified account today. Furthermore, the funds were sent out from another Ethereum wallet moneyed by the popular hacker’s blockchain address. All these happened within the early hours of Wednesday, as the funds were sent out in groups of 100 ether each to the Tornado personal privacy crypto exchange.

The Ronin Bridge Ether Exploit

Ronin Bridge is an Ethereum-based sidechain for the play-to-earn video game Axie Infinity, an NFT video game. It was produced by Sky Mavis and is running both Ronin Bridge and Axie Infinity.

On March 23, cybercriminals made use of The Ronin Bridge Network, and the hackers robbed over $625 million worth of possessions. The possessions consist of 25.5 million USDC and over 173,600 ether. A report on their blog site exposed this information. The platform recognized the attack when its users could not withdraw 5,000 Ether from the Ronin Network.

Then, they required Twitter to inform the general public of the security breach on the platform. After the hack, the Ronin Bridge briefly closed down to redevelop the platform. Even though opponents targeted the hack at Ronin and Axie Infinity, the event didn’t impact the ‘axis’ tokens. The AXS and SLP tokens utilized to help with deals within the Axie Infinity video game are still safe and untouched.

Blockchain Data Reveals Ongoing Ether Fund Transfer

Within the early hours of Wednesday, Etherscan, a blockchain tracking platform, exposed that the opponents made about 55 deals from an address moneyed by the primary looter. Presently, the wallet holds 3.45 ether, summing to $6,88584

This action followed the huge selling of looted ether in April when the looters moved over 21,000 ether using different transfers to the Tornado exchange. The deal deserved over $65 million then.

The United States Trace the Looting to North Korean Hackers

The United States authorities had formerly traced the looter’s address to the “Lazarus” group, a notorious group of hackers sponsored by the North Korean supreme leader Kim Kuk-song. Chainalysis, the blockchain tracking platform, traced and verified the deal between the North Korean Cybercriminal group.

In a thread on Twitter, the platform even supplied evidence of the Lazarus group lagging the March exploitation.
